SUMMER BAY RESORTS complaint by Mwilhelm
it is now 9:45pm in Illinois. Summer Bay just called a few hours ago and gave me a package for 4 days in Orlando, 3 days in Daytona and 5 days in Costa Rica! Sounds great to me! But not that I have read all of the blogs on here I'm beginning to think this is all one big scam!!! I'm only 19 and Tamara knew that but I read the teram and consitions and they say I have to be 23. Ms. Kathy maxwell confirmed everything and the money has been taken out of my acct. $9.95 for a processing fee and $99 for the all enclusive Costa Rica trip. I still havent gotten my conformation email, but when I went to the mysummerbay.com website and put in my phone number and email all of my vacay pkgs are there and confirmed. I'm not sure what to do.

Yes, I can't wait to see what my Cancun vacation turns out to be in October.

I already knew about their "bad" reputation, but have knowledgable helpers walking with me through this all- everything was heard and analyzed, so if anything is other than stated, I already have plenty of evidence to take civil and legal action.

So I suggest to those interested, to just COVER your ***!!

Almost "set them up", so to speak, and record everything, so if something is not parralle to what they claimed, you got it!!!

To the girl who though you got sammed....

You should know that they tell you right off the bat that you need to be 23yrs or older..... you still proceeded and went ahead with it.... then all I can say is that you put yourself in the position. And if you still have the packages and don't have you're money back then go on the trip.... the tickets and everything will have your name on it... so it's either you are able to go or you get your money back.... cause if the company sold you a package and you are under 23 then there are a lot of legal implication there... When they confirmed your age (date of birth), they would have realized you're age.... at that time it should have been made clear to you that you are not eligible. Doesn't matter what you attest to after.... the fact is that you didn't qualify. Something doesn't make sense here cause Summer bay has a reputation to hold... they wouldn't put themselves in that position.

For all you people out there who don't have a clear understanding of Summer bay.... let me tell you this much. I have book 4 different packages with Summer Bay and I have not had any issues with them. It's all about hearing what they are telling you and knowing what you're getting into. That's it. That should be with everything you do. So as far as the vacations go... I can't complain... you get more value for your dollar any day. All you have to do is be in the mood to enjoy yourself.

People who have been scammed or thought they were being scammed were not hearing what the sales agent was telling them. It's a give and take. you give them 90mins of your vacation time and you get a cheap vacation.

Thanks.

I can assure you that this is not a scam. Summer Bay is a very reputable company. I just came from one of their vacations and had a great time. They were sooo nice there. There is no high pressure sales at all. If you don't want to buy a time share,l all you have to say is "no thank you" and that's it.
