SUMMER BAY RESORTS complaint by Dawnlizabeth
I came across a pop-up ad advising me I had won'the grand prize' in their contests. They went through the whole spiel not bothering to mention that it is a time share promotion. I was promised a total of 15 days of vacation at several different venues and $3000....BUT first, I was to pay them $495 for some unexplained reason.....

I checked them out and found I was not the only potential scam victim. Some had planned their vacations after sending the money and received nothing in return, the customer service number had been disconnected! I(for once) checked the deal out on-line and read horrendous stories of thievery by this company-SUMMER BAY .....look out for them!

summer bay is a black man's party place. I just realised that while in USA never accept any offers from a black man . I was duped from summer bay for 398 dollars, the other end spoke like a black man in charge of the whole enterprise......gave me cancun and bhamas for free ....it was too good to be true. i couldn't sleep the whole night and cancelled the booking with my card . I haven't spoken to them since. I made a hasty decision by giving them my credit card number , they just took over my emotions to break free from work .....showed me rosy pic of beautiful scenery.

I just canceled my vacation purchase ($200). I acted too hastily and thought it would be a great vacation/gift. It turns out that you do not stay at the resorts, you stay in an area hotel & get access to the resort's amenities and attend a 90 min. sales pitch. It just wasn't all it was cracked up to be in my mind- plus I'm a full time student & have no job currently. You MUST cancel within 7 days of your order or you're stuck in a sticky situation. If you CAN afford travel and $200 or more up front then this isn't really a bad deal. I didn't go far enough to incur hidden fees . . . so to that I can not speak.

GOOD LUCK!

Good for you, I am so happy to know at least one potential victim is saved. Even though it's not alot but it's the beginning that people are becomming more weary and spend a bit more time to do some research. Some are not too fortunately and can never get their money back (like me). But spending a few minutes to post our warnings can save someone, it's all good.

Thank you for sharing your story. Summer Bay is a scam. I am glad you realized it.
